Enrichment Classes

Registration for Winter 2017 begins January 3, 2017!

Fun & Fitness with Kim (Mondays, 1/9-3/13): Join Kim Braun, the Hebrew Day School gym teacher in a program of Fun and Fitness. We’ll be jumping ropes, running to music, going through obstacle courses, playing games(ie. what time is it Mr. Fox?), lifting very light weights, hula hooping and having tons of fun!! Let’s make Fitness Fun!! Minimum to run: 6.

Gym America (Tuesdays, 1/10-3/14): Students learn skills in each event using the floor circuit for tumbling skills, as well as balance beams, bars, and a vault just their size. Every week there is a different theme incorporated into the class. Some themes we have done in the past include balloons, parachutes, numbers, colors, animals, and many more. Minimum to run: 8.

Peachy Fitness Yoga (Wednesdays, 1/11-3/15): Kids Yoga is a great opportunity to help children build self esteem and self respect. Kids Yoga promotes physical strength that encourages kids at a very early age to use their muscles in a new way. They will explore yoga by imitating animal poses, breathing techniques, play games and relax in a fun and nurturing environment. Minimum to run: 9.

Junior Futsalers (Thursdays, 1/12-3/16): Brought to the JCC by Michigan Futsal Academy. For ages 3-5 years old, build a love of Futsal/Soccer by playing fun games with and without the ball. Lessons are designed to enhance balance, coordination, and agility. Although the focus is on the individual, we work in pairs at times to begin to learn the fundamentals of pair play. Kids are challenged by using all different kinds of balls throughout the class. Minimum to run: 8.

Bricks4Kidz (Fridays, 1/13-3/17): Watch your preschoolers’ eyes light up as they explore an array of brightly-colored DUPLO® Bricks! Engaging models based on a variety of themes, including the alphabet, animals and more are the building blocks of our Bricks 4 Kidz® pre-school curriculum. Each week children build a model based on one of the themed units, while practicing essential pre-school skills including: Letter Recognition, Counting, Fine & Gross Motor Skills, Patterns, and Vocabulary. Minimum to run: 6
